Denise was born in San Antonio, TX and attended Boerne High School. Upon graduation, she attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, and resided in New Braunfels, TX. Her degree is in Radio & Television, but always had a passion for teaching, photography, and writing. Denise was an elementary school teacher for 14 years focusing on formal early childhood education and informal at home lessons. She has a daughter Betty, who she loved dearly, and exposed her to many life experiences. Denise sadly passed away at the young age of 43 and left as a legacy this children’s book.
The idea behind ‘Don’t Throw Your Fit’ is to educate children about communicating emotions rather than throwing a fit. It guides children through navigating emotions, linking them with their needs, and voicing their demands.
Denise has done an amazing job by using illustrations to build a friendly relationship between the children and their fit!

Wow what a wonderful book!! This book was well thought out. The cute, adorable characters called “Fits” shows a fun way children can understand frustration and its effects on themselves and others.
